Conservation Innovation Grants in Aquaculture Available

NRCS State Conservationist Sylvia Gillen has announced the availability of a new 2009 Conservation Innovation Grant dealing with aquaculture. $200,000 is available through a competitive grant process.  The deadline for application in June 17, 2009.

2008 Farm Bill

Farm Bill Interim Rules Published

The conservation provisions in the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 (2008 Farm Bill) will affect farmers for years to come. The new provisions build on the conservation gains made by landowners over the past decade. They simplify existing programs and create new programs to address high priority environmental protection goals. Many of the interim final rules to these programs have been published and are available at this link for public comment.
